R. V. S. Peri Sastri

R. V. S. Peri Sastri, is a former Chief Election Commissioner of India serving from January 1, 1986 to November 25, 1990. During his tenure the Indian general election, 1989 were held and Rajiv Gandhi became the Prime Minister of India.

He has worked as a Professor in Delhi University.

He was Secretary to the Government of India in 1980. He held this position and amended the Constitution of India thrice: The Road Corporations of India Act of 1950,[1] The Sugar Development Fund Act, 1982 and Delhi Sales Tax Act, 1975.
